Don’t let them do you like that! That’s right; turn it around to your advantage. Anger will only fuel their fire. So, let them know in a JOKING sense you got the gist of their conversation. Next time they bring up death or retirement, chime right in and do a spin on it. Your co-workers will feel pretty lame for past remarks said. Remember, “62” is now considered the new “52”.

It’s not about fessing up to mom, but taking care of you during this trying time. Call the physician back, and explain your feelings. Hopefully, he will know of a support group or can hook you up with someone who helps with the emotional aspect. Getting the correct backing and knowledge will assist you to move on with your life.
